The place to be after the Paul Bunyan Days’ parade is the big Lions Club and Parents & Friends BBQ.
Follow the enticing aroma of grilling meat to the field on Todd’s Point – the same place you watched the action-packed logging show just the day before. From 12 – 4 there will be delicious, locally raised and hand selected cuts of beef, pork and lamb served with plenty of beans, coleslaw and bread sides. Veggie Burgers will also be available.
The food hits the grill around noon, the bar opens about the same time; bidding begins on a silent auction, and winners are announced for the 50/50 raffle being held by the Fort Bragg Leo and Key Club Youth Groups for their charities.
That’s not all – so don’t even think about leaving just because your tummy is full and your thirst quenched. Hang around and enjoy entertainment just for kids and kick-up your heals to the tunes of a live band.
New this year is a chance to see the parade floats up close and personal and cast your vote for your favorite in the “People’s Choice” competition.
Discounted BBQ tickets are available in advance –$12 for adults and $8 for kids and seniors — at Harvest Market, La Bamba, Columbi Market, Paul Bunayn Thrift Store, Chamber of Commerce, Fort Bragg Community Credit Union and Mendocino’s Out of the World.
